I was going to start working on this blog post tomorrow, after I felt I had taken time to let the events of this year’s September London Fashion Week sink in. Time, however, waits for no man, so I've found myself picking up the laptop and typing away.
There certainly was a progression of confidence from the start of the week to right at the end. I feel proud that I put myself out there — just being able to observe the stunning new collections up close was an incredible privilege. Spoiler alert, I missed a show or two, which was bound to happen on my first run and speeding about on public transport. I wanted to broaden my knowledge of the fashion industry, as there's just so much to learn and everything changes so quickly all the time.
So many of us dream of working in the creative industries, a plethora of anxieties plaguing what our families consider to be a simple death wish. If you’re not necessarily born into 'that world' you will have wondered if/when you’d emerge from the delusion. Well, if I’ve learnt anything over the past few years working in fashion, it’s that we shouldn’t be afraid of being a bit delulu! It might just land you right where you're meant to be.
